About Me
Presenting on Small Water Enterprises at Stanford Business School
I’m an international development expert with a passion for water, sanitation, and hygiene. My 20+year career has taken me to more than 20 countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, where I’ve developed and implemented innovative water, sanitation and hygiene programs. More recently, I’ve focused on the water sector, and led both grantmaking and business development efforts, targeting development agencies, corporations, and foundations. Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated closely with governments, NGOs, policy makers, academia, and industry.
I’ve led several partnership initiatives, including the Climate Resilient Sanitation Coalition (with UNICEF, WHO, GCF, World Bank, BMGF, etc.) Public-Private Partnership for Handwashing (with Colgate, Unilever, P&G, USAID, the World Bank, Johns Hopkins University, UNICEF, etc.) and the Small Water Enterprise Community of Practice (with Jibu, Water Mission, Water4, Water for Good, Water for People, UNTAPPED, and Danone Communities).
I’m frequently sought as a public speaker, and have been featured at World Water Week in Stockholm, the American Water Summit, the American Public Health Association, as well as at World Bank Water Week, and various sessions at USAID, the UN, and elsewhere. Additionally, I’ve guest-lectured at institutions such as MIT, Princeton University, and Montclair State University, as well as being interviewed for PBS’s Roadtrip Nation, and on Al Jazeera.
I hold a Master of Engineering degree from MIT and a Bachelor of Arts in English and American Literature from Brown University.
